Thing To Try: Five Different Pink Polishes

Consensus around the office is that the five Dior pink nail polishes pictured above are as about as close to perfect as we've seen. So when they made their way to our desks last week, the question became: Which to wear first? In order to assuage any decision fatigue, it's recommended you wear all five at once, in ascending color saturation. Call it a "tonal manicure." For best results, swipe on a healthy top coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat and get a week's wear out of a spur of the moment mani.

The last shows of the season are around the corner and that means it’s time to pack for Paris! I’m all about the effortless off-duty look by the time the Paris shows come around, so I stick to quintessential French beauty brands. I teamed up with Saks POV to break down my favorite beauty look for the last leg of fashion month.

This Paris Pastel Pretty look lets your skin take center stage. I start by layering on Lancôme Absolute L’Extrait Ultimate Beautifying Lotion for a fresh base. After that settles I apply Clarins Double Serum Complete Age-Control Concentrate to the apples of my cheeks and Clarins Super Restorative Day Cream to the rest of my face and neck. This essential step ensures that my skin will stay hydrated throughout the day. The look is all about moisture and radiance, so going matte is public enemy number one.

For my eyes I turn to the new Dior Kingdom of Colors Spring 2015 Colors Palette. It has become my go-to travel companion with so many amazing pastel hues packed into a stunning compact—tres chic. The black liner is ideal for creating a subtle cat eye in one single swipe. I follow that up with a touch of the pastel pink gloss. I dab a little in the corners of my eyes for a soft and natural look with a subtle glossy sheen.

To add a hint of blush I’m into Laura Mercier’s Watercolor Mist Palette. I blend the two blushes; Earth and Sunset, together for a natural and healthy touch of color. And of course no look is complete without a killer fragrance. Kilian’s sweet and musky, Don’t Be Shy, is bottled elegance. It’s an ideal finishing touch for a day at the Paris shows.

In the evenings I turn to Guerlain Meteorites Perles de Blush and play up my cheekbones by lightly dusting on the rosy pink blush. It’s scented with sweet violet, which is one of my favorite fragrances. I keep my lips almost bare wearing a soft pink gloss from the Dior palette to give them a subtle shine. Before heading out the door I like to give my skin a pick me up with a spritz of Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Rejuvenating Concentrated Elixer from Lancôme.

WHY YES I HAVE BEEN SUPER ACTIVE THIS WEEK THANKS FOR NOTICING! I thought I'd sneak in a "February Favourites" post before february is too far gone!

Now I haven't been trying out too many new products lately as I am supposed to be "saving" and "budgeting", two adult terms I am struggling to grasp. But from what I have been using this month these are a few things I kept reaching for time and time again.

PRODUCTS MENTIONED:
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer 01 Ivory
Miss Dior Cherie Perfume
Benefit The POREfessional Primer
Benefit Hoola Bronzer
Anastasia Beverley Hills Eyebrow Gel Clear
Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz Pencil Ebony
Lanolips Tinted Lipbalm

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer:
I was surprised by this little gem as I don't normally reach for any Rimmel face products! This lovely little concealer is great for highlighting/brightening and doesn't break the bank either.

Miss Dior Cherie Perfume:
One of my all time favourite scents. Sweet and floral without being too overpowering, perfect for living in the tropics!

Benefit The POREfesional Primer:
There is much hype behind this product so I don't need to tell you that it's great. But I will anyway. It is great.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer:
OH LORDY. I have found my holy grail bronzer. Perfect shade without being too ashy or too orange. Perfect for bronzing up my face or contouring, I am sticking with this product for life.

Anastasia Beverley Hills Eyebrow Gel and Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz Pencil:
I have finally found the perfect combination of products for the ultimate eyebrow. Great pencil colour, smooth texture, precise application, then kept in place ALL DAY with the gel.

Lanolips Tinted Lipbalm:
My go to lip product for lazy days (most days). Ultra hydrating and a pretty soft pink colour.

Did you have any stellar products this month? If so let me know and I'll try them out!

“After studying economics I realized that numbers were not for me. I’m more of a cream, lipstick and perfume kind of person (laughs). So I started out in the industry working at ELLE France. I got an internship for thee months in the beauty department and when that ended I started working wit them on freelance projects. And now of course I work there full time as a Beauty Editor. I really enjoy my work. We have an amazing team and spending hours opening bags of new cosmetics is always very exciting.

I cycle through products really fast clean out my bathroom often. I’ve been using less cosmetics than last years and I m very careful with the ingredients that I do use. I try to use at least eight percent organic products and now that I am pregnant I am even more careful.

In the morning I do a sprtiz of Eau Florale de Lavande from Melvita. I am still looking for the perfect organic cream, but at the moment I’m using one by Ren. I’m not a huge fan of the texture though. I also like the Rose Otto Face Oil by Estelle & Thild, but I mostly use that in the summer time.

After I moisturize I apply my makeup, which is so minimal. I use a little bit of Decleor BB crème, Terracotta de Guerlain and a “soupçon” of Blushing Fabric from Armani. I love Dior mascara, especially the last one, Overcurl the effect is perfect!

On special nights out I’ve learned a great trick from makeup artist Violette. She taught me how to do a very light smoky eye. I use Clarins black Kohl or a liner from Kajaja. I bought it in Morocco four years ago and I never found it again.

In the evening I clean my skin with water and soap or gel, cleanser. Currently I’m using Erborian BB Cleanser followed by a sprtiz of my Eau Florale.  Then I put on a huge amount of night cream. I love really oily creams or even hard oils. I have very sensitive and really dry skin so I love to go to bed with something heavy on my face, which can cause my boyfriend look at me with curiously! Depending on my mood, I’m alternate between Huile 27, Rose Otto from Estelle and Thild or Egyptian Magic.”
