Hey guys! I’m back! Yes, I’m actually blogging after a good few months away. I know, I know, I’m a bad blogger. I’ll get into why I’ve taken a break in another post as it could be a long one. But the short version is basically this: my mental health hasn’t been the best recently and I haven’t been in the right frame of mind to sit down and type blog posts. Truth be told, I lost all passion and motivation. I’ve barely managed to keep on top of my social media feeds of late, let alone anything else. The whole thins has been making me seriously stressed all of a sudden and it’s something I’m currently trying to get under control. A blogging mid-life crisis if you will.
I’m determined to get back on it starting from now and get that passion for writing back. I’ve just got myself a new laptop (only went a spilt a pint of water on my previous one – school boy error!), shot some new blog imagery and am feeling inspired. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to write about, please let me know in the comments section or tweet / DM me! Anyway, what better way to get back to it than sharing some of my current faves. I’m always getting asked what I use and what my fave beauty items are via Instagram, so I hope you find this useful!

Carita Ideal Hydration Lagoon Cream – I recently had a facial at Rudding Park Spa in Harrogate and the lady used this brand of skincare products. She gave me some mini samples to take away and I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this moisturiser. It has what I’d describe as a gel/jelly like consistency and is so refreshing and lightweight on the skin. It almost reminds me of an after sun and even has a similar pale green colouring. The only way I can describe it is super refreshing but also really moisturising. It contains noni extract, a Tahitian fruit known for its revitalising properties and helps to energise the skin and reinforce its natural defence system. The skin is firmer, more supple and radiant.
Charlotte Tilbury Supermodel Body – This product is an absolute GAME CHANGER. I get a lot of questions on Instagram about how I get my skin to look glowy in my photos and this is the secret. Yep, it’s not a natural glow, unfortunately, haha. This is basically a liquid highlight for the skin and when applied it creates such a beautiful golden glow. It’s not shimmery or sparkly which can look really unnatural but instead gives the skin a gorgeous metallic sheen when the light hits it. I literally plaster myself in this stuff before a night out or when I’m shooting photos for Instagram as it makes such a huge difference. Not the cheapest product out there but definitely the best I’ve tried! This mini bottle has lasted me months so I can only imagine how long the full size would last. I’m actually going to purchase the full size this week as I can no longer be without it!

Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt cologne – I’m a huge fan of Jo Malone fragrances and if they weren’t so expensive I’d probably wear a different one every day of the week (the dream!). I usually get a new bottle form family or Matt at Christmas as a treat and this year I got the Wood Sage & Sea Salt scent which I’ve totally fallen in love with. It’s a fresh but also woody/earthy scent making it perfect for both day or night. It’s one of those good all round scents! I’m useless at describing fragrance so go give it a sniff next time you’re passing a Jo Malone store.
OGX Damage Remedy + Coconut Miracle Oil – Hair oil is a staple in my hair care routine and I never blow dry my hair without slathering the ends in an oil first. As well as protecting the hair from heat and damage, I find it helps make it look ten times smoother and more shiny. I sometimes like to use it between washes too when my hair is starting to look a bit dull – it seems to bring it back to life!
Loving Tan Bronze Body Shimmer – this is my favourite tanning brand, hands down. I’ve been using their products for a year or so now and their dark mousse is just the best for a deep, golden glow. This body shimmer is a more recent discovery but I absolutely love it. It’s perfect when you want to top your tan up before a night out and also give your skin a bit of a glow/shimmer. I often get asked what tan I use on Instagram so here you go – this is my secret to a year round tan!
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation – I decided to buy a new bottle of this after not using it for a few months and I’ve realised just how much I love it. It gives great coverage, has a lovely finish (fairly matte but not drying) and is really long lasting. I’m currently using the shade Punjab which is a perfect match when I’m tanned (from the bottle unfortunately – I need a holiday and some natural glow asap!) and I use the shade Fiji for those ‘I can’t be bothered putting fake tan on’ paler days. Hehe! I also have combination skin and this works really well for me – I don’t find it too oily or drying so it’s a good all rounder I’d say.
Buxom Lip glosses – I can’t even tell you how much I love these glosses. If you want something that’s going to plump your lips, have amazing pigmentation and insane gloss – these are for you. They do feel a bit tingly on the lips because of the plumping action but it’s not an uncomfortable feeling at all. I have one of these in my bag at all times at the moment, I can’t be without them!
Cover FX Custom Blending brush – I got this brush in a goody bag at a Beauty Bay event and it’s become my go-to for applying liquid foundation. It has a really dense bristles (99,000 of them are packed in there apparently) and a slightly rounded top meaning it gets into all the nooks and crannies of your face and blends foundation like an absolute dream.

Charlotte Tilbury ‘First Love’ blush – When it comes to blush, I go through serious phases. I can go months without wearing it and then other times I don’t feel like my makeup routine is complete without it. I’ve been using this Charlotte Tilbury blush in the shade ‘ ‘ recently and I feel like it’s the perfect shade to add another dimension to my skin and gives my makeup a more polished and put together look – if that makes any sense? I think the main thing I dislike about blush is that it can often look very obvious that someone is wearing it – think bright pinks or corals. However, this shade is really lovely – it’s a pale brown toned pink shade and looks super natural on the skin. Definitely one to check out if you’re a bit scared of blush like me!
YSL ‘All Hours’ compact powder foundation – I’m not a big fan of powder foundations and would never use powder over a liquid, ever. I don’t think the coverage is comparable and you don’t get that same dewy glow that a liquid can provide. However, one thing that powder foundations are great for is setting liquid foundation. That may sound like a lotta foundation going on but trust me on this one. If you want your base to look extra flawless, powder foundation has a bit more coverage and longevity than your standard setting powder. I’ve been using this YSL one to set my foundation with  for nights out when I want a super full coverage look and it’s fabulous. As the name All Hours would suggest, it’s really long lasting and keeps my makeup in place the whole night as well as adding a smooth flawless finish.
I hope you enjoyed this little round up of my fave products guys! Please let me know what else you’d like to see from me as I’m always open to suggestions and want to write about the topics you guys are interested in. Feel free to drop me a DM on my social channels any time! PS – all of these items are linked, just click on the name of them to be taken directly to the retailers websites for more info.

When summer rolls around, I find myself getting into more of a structured beauty routine. I think it’s because holidays and more exposed skin are looming over us, it gives us that little kick up the bum we need to get into a solid routine. Of course we want to look our best all year round but because the weather is better in summer (if we’re lucky that is), I find myself wearing less products than I would in the winter months which means looking better naturally. I’m all about stripping it back to the bare essentials and using a few essential products that help give me a radiant and healthy summer glow.
The first products I can’t be without would be my favourite Simple Kind to Skin face wipes which I take with my wherever I go as well as my elemis pro collagen cleansing balm – my skin cleansing dream team. There’s nothing worse than feeling caked in makeup when you’re hot and sweaty so I always have these two products with me to ensure I can remove my makeup thoroughly and easily. I’m also pretty lazy when it comes to skincare so they’re ideal for a quick freshen up when I’m in a rush. I also find them really hydrating which is great on days my skin has been faced with any kind of sun exposure. The cleansing balm has been a favourite for years now – it literally melts makeup away with the tiniest amount, leaves my skin soft and radiant and it smells amazing too.
To add an extra glow and some colour to my skin, I use the Khiel’s midnight recovery concentrate before bed which gives my skin that added boost of moisturise it craves after sun exposure. This is one of those products that makes a difference after one use and leaves the skin so radiant and glowing – I can’t recommend it enough. I’ve also been loving the Tan Luke self tan face drops which I mix into my moisturiser before bed. It contains a tanning ingredient so when mixed with moisturiser, it acts as a self tanner for the face without being quite as dark and unnatural looking as some regular tans. I always feel like my skin looks ten times better with a tan so this has been such a good find for me – I use it for a few days if I feel like my skin is starting to look a little drab and the colour lasts for a good week before I need to re-apply.
Another product I’ve been using every day recently is the Sensodyne Pronamel Strong & Bright enamel toothpaste. Much like my skin, I want my teeth to look good all year round but for some reason, I always want my them to look their best in summer. Maybe it’s something to do with being more tanned and smiling more because the sun is shining and I’m happier? Who knows but either way, good teeth are a must for me and toothpaste is something that’s often overlooked as a beauty product despite it being one of the must-haves for our overall health and appearance.
I wore braces for years to get my teeth straight, so keeping them in tip top condition is something that’s really important to me. I’ve also suffered from worn enamel (which can be caused by too much acidic foods in our diet like fruit – something we probably all eat more of during the summer months). With this being said, I’m very fussy with the toothpaste I use and Sensodyne Pronamel has always been a brand I can rely on to do what it says on the tube. I used to use their Pronamel Daily Protection but their new Strong and Bright has the addition of polishing away stains as well as actively helping to strengthen enamel for healthy, whiter teeth* – the two key features I look for in a toothpaste. I mean, who doesn’t want their teeth to be healthy, strong and white?!
A couple of body products I use all summer round would be my Palmers Cocoa Butter natural bronze gradual tanner as this is the most natural looking gradual tanner I’ve come across and you only need a couple of applications for a nice healthy colour. I love to use this after I’ve been away to keep my tan topped up too! Not to mention is smells good enough to eat.
To enhance a tan even further, I love using highlighters and my absolute favourites are No.7 shimmer body oil for the body and MAC Soft & Gentle for the face. These two paired together give the perfect glow that goes so perfectly with sun-kissed skin. Seriously, I’d bathe in the stuff if I could – you can never have too much highlighter, right?
Finally, summer fragrance. For me, it’s all about the sweetly and fruity of citrus scents and one of my faves at the moment is definitely the Missguided ‘Babe Power’ – I was super sceptical about it at first but it’s actually really nice! It has a fresh fruity scent – total summer vibes. Not to mention it comes in a rose gold bottle shaped like a can. YES!

All views are my own.

It occurred to me the other day that I’ve never actually shared the products I use on an every day basis with you guys and considering I’ve been blogging for over four years now, I thought it was about time I got round to it. I personally love reading about other bloggers every day makeup routines and the products they use on a daily basis so hopefully you’ll enjoy reading about my routine! I’ve included everything from primer to highlighter in this post so you can see exactly what I use when doing a full face of makeup. However, I don’t always use primer and don’t always bother with eyeshadow on a day to day basis but if I’m making a bit more effort, these are my go-to products.

THE BASE
As I mentioned, I don’t use primer every day as it isn’t an essential in my eyes but I have been reaching for the Too Faced Hangover primer on a daily basis recently as it feels more like a moisturiser than a primer and I love how hydrated and glowy it makes my skin. I’m not sure it makes my makeup last any longer but it does prep my skin nicely for foundation and give my makeup a more flawless finish. Next up is foundation and my current favourite is the Giorgio Armani luminous silk. I bought this after a makeup artist used it on me and I loved the finish. It has a medium to full coverage and a beautiful, is really easy to blend and has a nice dewy finish that makes my skin look radiant, not greasy.
After foundation, it’s time for concealer. I’m quite lucky in the respect I don’t suffer from bad skin so I tend to use concealer for highlighting purposes rather than covering blemishes. I’ve been using the Maybelline ‘Eraser’ concealer for around a year now and it’s 100% the best high street concealer I’ve come across. I love the sponge applicator as it’s so easy to apply to the areas I need it and the formula has a great coverage and blends beautifully. It also isn’t cakey in the slightest, despite it’s great coverage! The final step in my base routine is powder and whilst this isn’t essential for everyone, if you have an oily t-zone like me, powder is a must have! I use a combo of the Kat Von D Shade & Light palette and the MAC mineralize skinfinish natural powder. I mainly use the yellow toned shade from the Kat Von D palette to brighten my under eyes and then the MAC powder to set the rest of my makeup. I can’t recommend them both enough and together they give my makeup a lovely flawless finish.
THE CHEEKS
I’m not a big blush wearer so my only cheek essentials are bronzer and highlighter which I use every single day. My favourite bronzer is the NARS Laguna bronzer which I’ve been using for years now as it’s the perfect shade for my skin tone – it’s not too Orange toned so can be used to contour but it isn’t completely matte so it also adds a lovely glow to the skin. In terms of highlight, I’ve been using the BECCA Jaclyn Hill ‘Champagne Pop’ Shimmering Skin Perfector virtually everyday since I bought it. It’s the perfect champagne shade as she name would suggest and SO pigmented. I only need the lightest dab to create that perfect glowy complexion and I always get compliments whenever I wear it. Totally in love!
THE EYES
My go-to eyeshadow palette at the moment would have to be the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. I think the shades are perfect for this time of year when I want to look bronzed and glowy and I love how pigmented and creamy they are too. My favourite combo would have to be Luscious all over the lid and Puree blended through the crease. I think these two shades work really well together and make for a really pretty day time look. In terms of eyeliner, I always wear both pencil and liquid. For me, my eyes feel naked without liner so these two products are must-haves in my daily makeup bag. I’m currently using the Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in the shade Black Diamonds and the Collection 24 hour felt tip liner which has been a favourite of mine for years now. No eye look is complete without mascara so I always curl my lashes and apply a couple of coats of Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara. This is one of the best mascara’s I’ve come across for giving my lashes curl, length and volume. I love it!!
THE LIPS
I have to be honest, the lip products I use on a daily basis can change quite regularly as I find lip products the best way to change up my look and because I have so many lip products, I’m always trying out new ones. However, I do have a couple of products that I always turn to when I want a neutral every day lip and they’re both from my favourite lipstick/liner brand, MAC. In my opinion, MAC can do no wrong when it comes to lip products and I have quite the collection of their lipsticks and liners. My favourite combo for an everyday look and the shades I tend to grab on a daily basis are ‘Soar’ lip liner and ‘Twig’ lipstick which are both dusky pink ‘my lips but better’ kinda shades. I love those kind of shades as they’re so easy to wear and go with any makeup look.
What’s your every day makeup routine?!
