If you've seen any of my "Products I've Used Up" videos recently, you know I've been running out of shampoo and conditioner like crazy these days. I finally finished up everything I had, and have been trying out some new products, including The Body Shop's Rainforest Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner.
These are the first hair products I've ever tried from The Body Shop, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect out of them. I went with the Rainforest Moisture line because it appeared to be the most hydrating, which is what I look for most in my hair products. This line is formulated with pracaxi oil, manketti nut oil, and Community Trade honey-- which sounds like it should be quite moisturizing!
These products are also part of The Body Shop's Eco Conscious Rainforest hair care line, which means it is "respectful to the aquatic environment, is readily biodegradable, and the packaging uses recycled materials wherever practical."
I've been using these for about a week now, and unfortunately, I'm not impressed. The conditioner is way too light to be part of a "moisture" line... it feels like it is adding almost no hydration to my hair, and I end up having to compensate with extra leave-in conditioner afterward. The shampoo is okay, but also doesn't feel exceptionally moisturizing. If I pair the shampoo with a hydrating conditioner, my hair feels fine (which is what I will end up doing!).
I like that these products are eco-friendly, but if you are looking for a moisturizing shampoo or conditioner, I recommend you look elsewhere! If you like more lightweight hair products, these may work great for you.
The Rainforest Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner is available in two different bottle sizes (8.4 oz/$10) /(13.5 oz/$14.00) and can be purchased in The Body Shop stores and on their website.
